the tauranga farmers market pulled through with very affordable edible flowers that really were the star of the show for this 9x26 inch behemoth. seriously, this cake was so heavy! half was chocolate and half was banana and i was able to get a gorgeously white swiss meringue buttercream thanks to american butter hitting nz shelves. normally i would stick to local ingredients as much as feasibly possible but this was a special case where paler, sweeter butter was preferred.
